Team Australia apply to extend the use of their VK80MAN callsign

The operation Manna commemoration team in Australia have applied to add some more dates to use their VK80MAN callsign.

They will extend their operation and operate on the 18th and 19th of May and the 25th and 26th of May.

On the 26th and 27th of May will be commemorating operation Manna but also the date their Lancaster NX622 now an exhibit at the Bull Creek Aviation Heritage Museum Perth was built and handed over to the RAF at Elmdon airfield. East Midlands Portable Radio Group will support them offering visitors to the Museum contacts to her birth place.

Team Australia will operate from the radio operators position in Lancaster NX622 during the event several times and on the 27th of April have some very senior politicians and special guests in attendance. Commemorating operation Manna and the incredible 460 squadron who played a massive part in operation Manna and who lost 1018 people in combat while dropping more bombs than any other squadron in Bomber Command. In the course of the War 460 squadron was effectively wiped out 5 times over.
